How to measure for an initial estimate
Give the overall frame width and height in millimetres, with width first. Check that you are describing the frame rather than just the visible glass. If you are unsure where the frame ends, say so; do not remove trims or climb to reach an opening. Your measurements are for an initial estimate, not manufacturing sizes.
For several different windows or doors, describe each opening separately in the notes, with its quantity and approximate size. For a bay window, give the number of sections and explain its layout rather than treating the whole bay as a single flat window. Tell us which panes should open and whether any glass needs to provide privacy.
